Job Description

The primary focus of this position is to provide voice of the customer inputs to the New Product Development process and will act as the customer facing resource representing engineering.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Collect customer critical requirements/product requirements needed to develop the engineering specification to drive the new product development process.
  • Lead the beta testing program for NPD projects which includes vetting of candidate beta sites, specifying equipment configurations for each beta customer, testing equipment prior to placement, leading installation of beta equipment, training the beta customer, monitoring the beta site to provide support and collect customer feedback, communicate beta performance back to the NPD project team. 
  • Participates in concept/prototype ideation, design, assembly, and testing.
  • Provides engineering/application expertise in root cause analysis needed to resolve customer complaints/issues with any product despite maturity level.  (Old or new products)
  • Collaborates with field service training resource to develop training concepts, spare parts recommendations and service support site visit intervals for new products.
  • Leads customer complaint/performance resolution for “new” products

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering
  • 5-7 years of engineering experience
  • 3 years of experience in applications and/or sales engineering experience.  (Experience with customer facing relationships)
  • Field service engineering experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead other engineers and support personnel in accomplishing tasks.
