Position Summary

The Manufacturing Process Tech is accountable for leading the daily operations to ensure continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process. This includes meeting shift performance goals and customer demands.  Additionally, the MPT will coordinate production requirements by communicating production priorities established through Plant Management. The MPT will be a driver of change throughout the manufacture facility.

  • Administer current programs to assure the health and safety of employees and meet OSHA requirements
  • Guide and direct department safety leaders
  • Enforce Plant & Department Safety Rules
  • Monitor employee behaviors/work practices, address unsafe acts/conditions and SQF violations
  • Perform and process safety, behavioral, SQF and housekeeping audits
  • Lead investigation initiatives as they relate to safety and SQF events.


  • Facilitate use of in-house quality control systems as needed (QM modules, paper charts, CAPA, etc.)
  • Help ensure materials produced meet established quality standards
  • Administer 5S activities in the department including daily audits.
  • Analyze quality issues to determine root cause and communicate with appropriate parties to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Drive and assist with the CAPA process.


  • Coaching, mentoring and development of TPL’s, Operators, Techs and support staff.
  • Attend and assist with monthly departmental safety meetings.
  • Ensure departments meet Daily Management metrics and expectations for performance.
  • Lead problem identification and problem-solving events and activities.
  • Assist the VSL with All Hands Meeting.
  • Plant leader for incident investigation and employee concerns.
  • Conduct Gemba walks and BBS Audits.
  • Conduct Standard Work audits.
  • Lead and oversee departmental projects and action items.
  • Review and address Converting cost variances.
  • VSL back up resource.


  • Ensure shift manning schedules provide proper coverage and production is achieved.
  • Generate and circulate shift performance summary reports.
  • Provide cost and performance information to VSL. (written and verbal)
  • Document absenteeism and communicate unfavorable trend to the VSL.
  • Monitor production activities (breaks, Tardiness, shift changes, etc.) and address issues appropriately, in a timely manner.


  • Advise management of employee issues that may require their immediate attention to Safety, Quality, Production and Personnel issues.
  • Oversee communications and coordination of training. 
  • Track, document and deliver night shift TPL’s “Pay for Performance” reviews.
  • Perform SAP transactions for Converting report processing.
  • Performs other duties as directed by Value Stream Leader.

  • Has the authority to remove employees from company premises for the violation of Sealed Air Corp. “Zero Tolerance” infractions.
  • Has the authority to research and document all negative job performance issues.
  • Gather employee statements and participate in investigation process when needed.
  • Initiate corrective action forms.
  • Has the authority to conduct release meetings.
  • Has the authority to conduct qualification meetings for qualified operators.
  • Deliver PfP reviews with assistance of VSL.
  • Issue initial levels of discipline with assistance from VSL.

Other Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor degree preferred; Experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player.
  • Computer knowledge (SAP, Excel, Word)
  • Demonstrated safety commitment
  • Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks

Other Requirements

  • Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management
  • Assist and support “Lean initiatives” within the Converting departments 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
  • As a team member, follow all safety, quality, plant GMP and safe food handling rules

  • Position is Monday – Friday (Work schedule will vary based upon business needs)
