Role Summary

An exciting Career Opportunity arsies within Sealed Air China HR department. We are seeking an HR Operations Manager for our Fagerdala business in China. The role is based in Xiamen with scope covering both Fagerdala Xiamen plant and Huiyang plant.

The successful candidate will play a critical role as a business partner to site leadership and supports, implements, and executes policies and programs of the HR function for two facilities of Xiaman and Huiyang. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: HR and Organizational Goal Alignment, Employee and Leadership relations, Learning & Organizational Capability (performance management, training delivery), Talent Acquisition (recruiting, new hire on-boarding, orientation), Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, immigration & relocation), and government & legislative compliance.

Job Description

1) Ensure HR initiatives are aligned and executed with organizational goals and objectives

  • Contributes to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Collecting and analyzing employment data to drive decision making process 

2) Employee and Leadership Relations

  • Coaches and trains managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them. Advises managers how to successfully, ethically, honestly, and legally communicate with employees.
  • Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company including performance improvement process and employment terminations. 
  • Interacts regularly with all levels of plant personnel to ascertain human relations issues, work related problems, or other issues that might adversely affect employee morale and pro

3) Learning & Organizational Capability (performance management, training delivery) 

  • Performance and talent management (employee development & succession planning, annual review processes, termination processes, etc.) in partnership with local practices and applicable business processes 
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
  • Diversity & Inclusion programs coordination

4) Talent Acquisition

  • Interviews management and executive position candidates
  • Provide recruiting process support to the Talent Acquisition team with strategic staffing/recruitment/talent management initiatives
  • Works closely with local management in developing position descriptions and compensation benchmarking
  • Oversee the talent acquisition process for DMC, hourly hires and contractors (recruiting, new hire on-boarding and orientation)

5) Total Rewards

  • Provide payroll process support
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, policies and processes

6) Others

  • Compliance - Liaise with local government; ensure compliance of policies and procedures within the local statutory requirements.
  • Implement the government's financial support on human resources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree with preference in Human Resources or Laws
  • Minimum 5 years relevant HR full funtion experience in manufacturing orgnization setting, experience in working in MNC matrix organization will be preferred
  • Solid knowledge of local labor legislation and practices
  • Willingness to work via travelling in the region; Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Proven ability to problem solves, work through issues with limited information, find efficiencies
  • Proven ability to lead and influence local administrative staff and plant management without direct reporting relationships
  • Computer skills - strong technical capabilities in Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. Peoplesoft or equivalent HRIS experience is preferable
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English
