SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP STARTS WITH A DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE WORKFORCE

At Sealed Air, we believe that world class, global companies grow faster and lead in sustainability when inclusion comes first, and diversity is an integral part of the business strategy.

We have already started this journey. Our growing focus on Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is a critical part of driving a high-performance culture and meeting our company’s commitments to sustainability.

Taking Action Globally and Locally:
Sealed Air operates in more than 45 countries around the world and therefore we have a naturally diverse workforce that is positioned to respond to environmental challenges. From leading local litter clean-up efforts in North Carolina and India to our support of major global initiatives with organizations like the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, our employees are passionate and taking action within the many communities we serve.

Solving Problems Differently:
Our diverse perspectives also impact how we collaborate and solve problems. It positions us to respond and innovate faster when it comes to solving our customers’ biggest challenges.

This is amplified in our many labs and research centers—from Charlotte to Singapore to Italy to India- where our expert teams work to develop new, sustainable technologies and solutions.

Retaining and Advancing Diverse Talent:
In a global organization, the one universal measure of diversity is gender. Sealed Air is 23 percent gender diverse, we have two female leaders on the Executive Leadership Team and we just appointed our second female member to our Board of Directors. Despite this, we know there is more to do to drive our D&I efforts. We have groups established locally and globally devoted to moving the needle forward. One example is our Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), with six groups in place around the world, this organization focuses on attracting, retaining and advancing women within the workplace. In partnership with Global Human Resources, the WIN is sponsoring a company-wide campaign called SEE Women Rising based upon Sally Helgessen’s book How Women Rise.

Committing to Change:
We believe that a more diverse and inclusive culture starts with a commitment from the top. That’s why in 2018, our CEO Ted Doheny joined more than 600 other CEOs from around the world in signing the CEO Act!on for Diversity and Inclusion pledge.
This pledge is part of the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ commitment, a CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace and to help companies reach their D&I goals in a collaborative and efficient way.
In 2019, our efforts will continue with a concentrated focus on managers and providing helpful training and resources that support a diverse and inclusive workplace. Sustainability and D&I remain at the center of our strategy. We will continue to strive to make a difference in the industries and communities we serve and expand all areas of diversity across Sealed Air.

VETERANS

The Sealed Air Veterans Network is a global network of employees who have served in the military or who are dedicated to supporting veterans. Our Veterans Network focuses on continuing a culture where employees are valued for their military experience and supporting veterans in the communities we serve.
