What does a Plant Accountant do at Sealed Air?

The Plant Accountant Junior is responsible for ensuring consistency and transparency in financial reporting for the main facility and other small warehouses/sites as well as oversight and compliance with all internal controls. This role will collaborate with sister sites in developing and applying best practices throughout the organization and will serve as the financial business partner to supply chain plants.

  • Because you will provide accurate and timely analysis and interpretation to ensure accurate and actionable plant business decisions.
  • Because you will coordinate local finance activities like monthly financial results that will be delivered to the supply chain management and commercial finance teams.
  • Your financial background will help to provide:
    • Compliance with accounting policies and chart of accounts.
    • Coordinate and ensure that all accounting bookings are complete and accurate.
    • Evaluate business controls applied to the sites impacting manufacturing and inventory. Work with local management to implement and improve controls as needed.
    • Work with Savings initiatives and Projects.
    • Ensure that budget & forecast processes are completed within the business timetable and assist in driving accountability.
    • Certify that all transactions are recorded in line with Corporate Policy & Company Code of Conduct.
    • Safeguard all company assets; participate in reviewing asset inventory and utilization
  • Because you will collaborate with Global Business Services including AP/AR team to ensure timely and accurate account reconciliations
  • Because you will be able to take responsibility for a couple of small plants if needed.
  • Some travel required (up to 20%).

What are the skills that you need to have success in the role?

  • Written and spoken advanced level of English.
  • Experience with BI, HFM, and SAP. (will be a big plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills.
