Position Summary

Sealed Air is seeking a driven, team-oriented engineering professional to fulfill our current Electrical Engineering position, located in Ayer, Massachusetts.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for embedded hardware controls, Printed circuit board (PCB) design and software design from concept to manufacturing release. In this role the EE will innovate and design packaging equipment control systems.  Candidates should be comfortable with designing to meet UL & CE standards.  The ability to handle multiple projects, work independently and interact with team leaders as well as peers will be critical.

Job Description

Position Scope includes new equipment development projects, support of legacy equipment, design and support of production test equipment, troubleshooting, problem solving, and cross functional team support.

  • Design & maintain embedded control systems, including PCB design, motor control, and heater control.
  • Create Schematics in Altium designer, & AutoCAD Electrical
  • PCB layout using Altium designer
  • Create & maintain Bills Of Materials
  • Create & maintain cable assembly drawings & Wire run / point to point lists
  • Write and maintain embedded c code
  • Ensure compliance with required safety standards such as NEC, NFPA79, CE, & UL508A
  • Maintain revision control on all documentation, drawings & Programs via engineering change notices (ECN), and doc. control systems.
  • Support manufacturing relating to customer orders, inventory, parts, documentation, and equipment commissioning.  
  • Troubleshooting & field support with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of relevant Electrical engineering / controls experience. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.  
  • Electronic circuit design including motor control and digital & analog interfacing
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Comfortable working with & providing guidance to peers

 

Competencies

  • Altium designer, C/C++, C#, Visual Studio, AutoCAD Electrical, Knowledge of Engineering release processes, Industrial communications; Ether\IP, CIP, PID / Temperature Control Systems, MS Office suite. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

 

Education/Training

  • BS. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent on the job experience. 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with design and project engineering
