Summary

Sealed Air is seeking a driven, Mechanical Engineer in our Ayer Massachusetts location. As a member of this team, you will work closely with fellow engineers, designers, technicians, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing, to develop automation equipment and electro-mechanical assemblies. This role will enable you to see equipment development projects through all stages of the process: project conceptualization, project planning, design, manufacturing, in-house testing, installation, and the development of supporting machine documentation. You will have the opportunity to expand your design skills and manufacturing knowledge, strengthen your business acumen and professional skillset, and grow as a technical leader. Responsibilities

•    Creative conception based on well-defined guidelines.
•    Project Management
•    Layout design.
•    Design evaluation.
•    Detailing creation of all assembly drawings.
•    Generate Bills of Material and other necessary supporting documentation.
•    Hands on manufacturing support
•    Follow-up design improvement.
•    Following engineering quality standards, methods, policies and procedures.
•    ECO/ECN Documentation.
 

Qualifications

•    Mechanical Engineering BS degree (from accredited college or university).
•    Minimum of 1 year mechanical design experience
•    Candidate must be highly proficient in Solidworks.
•    Capable of project level assignments with the ability to demonstrate achievements.
•    Industry equipment design experience required, with packaging machinery equipment design a plus.
•    Engineering knowledge of materials, thermal properties, kinematics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, sheet metal design, and general industrial equipment manufacturing processes are also required.
•    Candidate must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
•    Ability to manage a project workload while adhering to aggressive completion schedules.
•    Strong analytical and technical background, along with good oral and written skills is necessary.
•    Experience/knowledge of lean tools would be a plus.
