Pay rate: $29.90 to $39.45
The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for maintaining process production equipment in peak condition to ensure safe and reliable operation. The Technician will accomplish this by performing preventive, corrective and emergency breakdown maintenance in both the electrical and mechanical fields.
The Maintenance Tech III will regularly utilize manuals, electrical schematics, technical specifications and other technical and safety related documents in the performance of their duties. Additionally, the Tech III will participate in support teams such as Safety, Root Cause Analysis and others.
Equipment types in scope for this role include extruders, presses, slitters, driven rollers, tension systems, robots and bulk handling equipment.
• Troubleshoots machines and equipment breakdowns to diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance such as lubrication, precision machine setups and proactive parts replacements.
• Disassembles and reassembles machines to replace broken or defective equipment and parts.
• Replaces various electrical components such as AC and DC drives, PLCs, relays, E-Ps, motors and others.
• Utilizes laptop PCs to connect to PLCs and diagnose production equipment problems.
• Diagnoses AC and DC drive problems using HIMs and laptop PCs.
• Replaces chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings and others.
• Maintains pneumatics and hydraulic systems.
• Documents all repair activities in the SAP Plant Maintenance module to maintain an accurate equipment history.
• Routinely seeks root causes of failures to identify corrective measures to be taken to prevent a recurrence.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
• Relevant Military training or work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
• 3 - 5 years relevant industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred to include troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools and electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, clamp on ammeters, meggers and process calibrators.
• Proficient in the servicing and maintenance of 480VAC, 3-phase power systems used to power motors, electrical cabinets etc.
Other Requirements:
• Basic understanding of machining processes such as lathe, milling, surface grinding, gear and keyway cutting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and ability to use general machinist
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems
• Computer knowledge and 1-2 years of MS Office applications and SAP transactions experience preferred.
