Protective Quality Manager - EMEA

EMEA Protective Network Quality Manager and Quality Manager of Bellusco Plant

 

Sealed Air is seeking a driven manufacturing professional to fulfill the opening of EMEA Protective Quality Manager which also includes responsibility of the Quality Assurance Manager for the Bellusco location.  The position will be in a fast-paced environment offering daily support to the manufacturing site as well as supporting improvements and optimization initiatives across all European protective locations within the Protective Vertical. This role will report directly to the Executive Director of Quality within the Protective global vertical.  The position will be based out of Bellusco, Italy.
 

What does the Bellusco Quality Manager do :

•    Responsible for managing and directing the Quality Assurance system for the Bellusco manufacturing facility.
•    Perform as lead in an effective Quality Management Team/System and champion continuous improvement activities to raise the performance of the business unit’s product lines.
•    Drive improvement activities to ensure maintenance of ISO, FSC and EN certificates.
•    Educate and train the employee base as to their impact on the quality management system.  
•    Hire, develop, mentor, coach, educate and train quality support roles.
•    Direct oversight of the activities and initiatives around quality at both facilities.
•    Site leader and driver for the Global QMS utilization via the ETQ tool.
•    Lead the sites to achieving defined defect reduction goals in the short term with a plan to achieve sustained best in class PPM performance. 
•    Ensures lab equipment is maintained and calibrated and that resources are utilized in the most cost-effective manner.
•    Promote systematic problem solving to resolve complex production and quality issues.
•    Establish and implement metrics (process capability, process control charts, quality measurement) for monitoring system
•    Provides sales and marketing teams technical support and acts as liaison with vendors and Research and Development for qualifications of raw materials and introduction of new products.
•    Interfaces with production, suppliers and customer quality representatives concerning issues with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
•    Work synergistically with other functional leads across operations teams in region of responsibility

What does the EMEA Protective Quality Manager do :

•    Develop and standardize processes for protective network rollout (ex. Systematic Problem Solving, QMS system use, AIMS report outs, Tracking and trending of quality KPIs (external PPM, Spoilage, Blocked Stock, Intercompany Defects, etc.). 
•    Support site leaders in achieve local certifications as appropriate; ISO, FSC, BRC, etc.
•    Support and develop protective facilities in their implementation of continuous improvement and growth with Quality Management System components.
•    Drive and support initiatives to improving the overall customer experience when it comes to product quality
•    Contribute to the network development and implementation of standard quality support roles and responsibilities within the operational facilities.
•    Escalation and awareness of developing situations and lead systematic root cause analysis activity across the legacy protective network, as appropriate.
•    Collaborate with site leaders to ensure that process engineers are actively leading a quality focused project at any given time along with the process improvement / wave projects.
•    
•    Collaborates on regional and global quality initiative rollouts with Protective and the SC Network.
•    Supports initiatives within the Network to address complex quality challenges.  This would include activity related to escalation and awareness of concerns, uniform and efficient rollouts of quality process and testing modifications, and root cause analysis where appropriate.  
•    Support on weekly and monthly Supply Chain Leadership calls.

Profile

•    Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering strongly preferred.
•    8-10 years of results-oriented experience in manufacturing.
•    Expertise in quality systems, processes, and programs; ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO45001, BRC, EN15343, FSC.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels from shop floor to senior management
•    Lean experience.
•    Familiarity and use of multiple root cause analysis tools.
•    Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities.
•    Able to assimilate to and understand new technologies.

•    Proficiency in the use of MS Office, ERP manufacturing systems (SAP), process mapping, and Six Sigma principles.
