Plant Controller

Job Description

Manage and direct the financial and accounting affairs of the LiquiBox operations in South Africa and provide daily on-site financial support by partnering with operations and functional leadership teams.

Lead the administration of accounting and financial activities, including cash management, preparation of interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, analyzing monthly results, preparing forecasts, and leading the annual budget process for the reporting entity’s management. Ensure cash flow optimization, cost control and company profitability through continuous process improvements. Responsible for monthly delivery of financial information to corporate and statutory reporting to the regulatory agencies in compliance with the company's financial policies, internal controls and accounting practices, and with local requirements. Responsible for the maintenance of the company’s fiscal records and registrations, Supervise control of bank accounts, foreign exchange exposure and transactions, cost accounting, and compliance with accounting regulations and statutory filings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and investigate discrepancies.
• Conduct month- and year-end closing, ensuring accounts are balanced and reconciled.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Coordinate finance activities with key departments to support operational efficiency.
• Drive cost control, productivity improvements, and working capital initiatives.
• Manage financial audits, capital expenditures, and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

• Education & Certification: BCom in Accounting or Finance, CPA, or CA (SA).
• Experience as Senior finance or controlling roles within manufacturing.
• Technical Skills: Strong MS Excel skills and ERP experience (Oracle preferred).
• Financial Expertise: Cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls.
• Leadership & Teamwork: Experience leading high-performing teams and managing multiple projects.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial and operational processes.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effective verbal and written communication, negotiation, and active listening.
• Adaptability & Ethics: Ability to manage change, work under pressure, and uphold high ethical standards.
