Job Summary

The Events and Customer Engagement manager is responsible for the execution and planning of all in-person North American marketing and customer events, including some virtual event support. This includes management of shows and events from concept to completion. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to work independently with moderate direction and effectively across other functions of the company. Applicants should be organized, resourceful, detail oriented and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Description

  • Oversee the execution of all in-person North American marketing events including trade shows, conferences, and industry events including but not limited to:
    • Budget/Invoicing (management and development)
    • Contracts
    • Working with external vendors
    • Lead management software
    • Booth resource planning
    • Show logistics (I.e. plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, wi-fi needs) 
  • Manage working relationship with Exhibit House
    • Planning
    • Coordination
    • Design
    • Inventory, etc.
  • Manage Charlotte customer visits/management of customer engagement center as needed
    • Coordinate meeting rooms
    • Tours
    • Catering
    • Planning of samples/needs
    • Customer transportation, etc.
  • Takes an active role in the execution of all North America led marketing virtual events 
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across multiple departments within the organization to ensure booth meets business and marketing objectives
  • Collaborate on the implementation of the marketing plan/strategy with the goal of driving brand awareness, foot traffic, leads, and attendance for each event
  • Coordinate the marketing calendar for all North American in-person and virtual events, ensuring adequate planning and preparation 
  • Work closely with MarComm Lead to coordinate efforts including social media, communication strategy, promotions, media, etc. (While not responsible for execution, this role is accountable for ensuring proper alignment across the marketing, global comms and marcomm group)
  • Collaborate with MarComm Lead on booth layout, event tactics, at show promotions, speaking opportunities, etc. 
  • Coordinate event logistics with SEE teams or external vendors to ensure events are executed in a way that provides unique experiences that enhances the brand
  • Act as point-person for all communication regarding show logistics
  • Effectively build an efficient and repeatable process for all in-person trade shows
  • Provides onsite supervision for installation and dismantle of all events
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, in business administration, hospitality, or marketing is required. Prefer prior experience in event marketing, trade show execution, or marketing communications
  • 5-10 Years of Experience managing the logistics of planning events/shows from beginning to end
  • Experience managing a budget, invoice tracking, etc.
  • Basic understanding of utilities (electrical, air, water) in relation to equipment displays/demonstrations at shows
  • Understands the principles and implications of union labor laws, and venue policies for show production 
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving 
  • Must possess strong planning, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Must be able to travel to event locations 

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficient use of email and phone for communications is essential
  • Basic understanding of forklift operations helpful
  • Booth design knowledge and graphics production knowledge helpful
  • Job can sometimes be physically demanding. Ability to lift, carry and move heavy objects sometimes required
  • Basic understanding of freight transport required
