Job Summary:
Our Digital team is growing rapidly to support the change and disruption happening in the industries we serve. As a result, we are looking for skilled and driven leaders to help support our customer-centric digital transformation!
Reporting to the Executive Director, Experience Design & Web Strategy, the Experience Design Manager, will deploy their people management skills and user experience and visual design expertise to lead a collaborative and insight-driven team. This role requires someone who is passionate about directing teams in the creation of high-quality work and digital experiences that balance consumers’ and business needs.
This role can accommodate a remote based employee who lives in an EST or CT region OR an in-office flexible work schedule out of our headquarters in Charlotte, NC, if the candidate is local. Both local and remote employees will be required to travel into the main Charlotte office once per quarter for week long, in-person collaborative team meetings. How You Will Impact:
- Manage and mentor a team of product (UX/UI) designers in the experience design organization
- Oversee the quality and completeness of experience design deliverables
- Champion opportunities to help the experience design team grow and expand their skillset
- Be an advocate for and evangelize the work and results of the design team to stakeholders and the broader company
- Grow the experience design discipline to meet Sealed Air and the team’s needs
- Collaborate with Content, Research, Strategy, and Product teams to transform our digital product experiences
- Work with fellow leaders and business partners to define and drive the long-term customer experience strategy and short-term tactics
- Prioritize incoming design requests and balance team workload across multiple workstreams
- Identify learning and development opportunities for your team to grow both personally and enhance their work on a technology driven team
Skills and Experiences for Success:
- 7+ years of relevant product design experience
- 4+ years of directly managing, coaching, and developing a team of product designers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You have a desire to put the user experience first and know users better than they know themselves
- Experience managing multiple projects/ workstreams at once
- Experience helping designers grow in their practice build
- Experience driving impact from insights
- Experience setting expectations and priorities which meet the needs of the company, project, and team
- 7+ years of relevant product design experience
- 4+ years of directly managing, coaching, and developing a team of product designers
