Job Description

Work with Sealed Air Supply Chain, Sales and customers to quantify and improve the quality and performance of Sealed Air’s products.  Investigate and analyze quality issues and lead resolution efforts at both customer and SEE locations.  Provide training to customer personnel in the proper use of Sealed Air packaging materials and equipment.  Recommend, assist with, and/ or initiate programs designed to improve performance of Sealed Air products and equipment, as well as customer packaging processes. Lead activities focused on continuous improvement in support of Sealed Air Corporation and our customers.

 

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track Critical Performance Measures (CPMs) for Sealed Air and customers and provide recommendations for improving
  • Determine the fitness of the total customer packaging process through the use of Six Sigma and Lean tools, Audits, Process Observation, and customer interaction.  Identify challenges in the Customer’s process and recommend product / process quality improvements that provide value to Sealed Air and our customers.
  • Serve as the Sealed Air quality representative in the field and provide guidance, advice, and training to customers about quality improvement techniques.  Act as advisor/liaison between internal and external customers and Supply Chain, identify areas of potential improvement and communicate those findings to customers and Sealed Air plants. 
  • Pro-actively address quality issues within the Region.  Initiate the appropriate communications and drive the root cause investigation and corrective actions to resolve the issues.
  • Work with Supply Chain, Sales, Technical Sales, Applications/R&D, and Equipment on special projects to solve customer challenges such as line layout, equipment recommendations, and new product development (team member or team leader as needed).
  • Provide regular updates on field performance, quality issues and competitive activity to personnel at the Supply Chain locations

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required and Desired Skills

Educational Background

 

  • BS/BA in an engineering or technical field required.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of increasing responsibility and experience in quality and/or engineering. Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Preferred meaningful assignments in manufacturing, engineering, and/or quality
  • Inclusive leader with 5+ years of management of people experience
  • Ability to lead through influence, manage ambiguity, and demonstrate managerial courage to deliver against business objectives.
  • A well-rounded person with strong organizational savvy, who partners effectively with cross functional stakeholders to earn respect and trust at all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Ability to present on various topics to executive committees when requested and/or discuss detailed issues with plant personnel
  • Strong emphasis on quality tools (such as FMEA, FTA, QFD, SPC, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred
