Job Description

Sealed Air’s Cre8 Design Team is seeking a motivated, energetic, individual who is passionate about package design to join as a fully contributing member of the team for the summer. This role will have you working independently on projects and with other senior designers to help guide and teach you. Most of this focus will be on thermoformed plastic packaging. Also, you will work on one longer-spanning project that will help boost our team’s operational efficiency.

In addition to your role within your team, our interns contribute to the local community, participate in trainings, network with other interns and members of Sealed Air, and present their projects to Executive Leadership at the end of the summer.

Qualifications

Education:          Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from 4-year college or university is preferred.

Graphic Designers and Package Designers with Industrial design skills may be considered as well.

 

Required Skills/Training:

  • Industrial, Package, or Graphic Design with high level of proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Solid Works, Rhino, or similar CAD software
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to make hand-made prototypes from a variety of materials with high level of craftsmanship
  • Portfolio of work that demonstrates design thinking/ problem solving/ and prototyping
  • Ability to translate problem into design strategy and action plans
  • Top candidates will have completed 3 years of undergraduate course work
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Must have strong English and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate and collaborate with customers and team members
  • Deadline and detail- oriented

 

Preferred Skills/Training:

  • Proficiency in graphic design would be considered a big plus
  • Proficiency in building presentations and presenting to stakeholders
  • A desire to bring talents and skills to contribute to our team
  • The desire to learn about package design for food and e-commerce
  • Self-motivated
