Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product teams, other data scientists, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders to discover innovative ways of leveraging large repositories of data
  • Translate business problems into quantitative terms and present the results through visualization and prototyping
  • Design innovative data-driven solutions and products that improve efficiencies, revenues and profitability of internal processes and customer operations
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytics and machine learning models
  • Build machine learning models using supervised and unsupervised modeling techniques
  • Design and conduct experiments to determine the feasibility and accuracy of proposed data-driven solutions
  • Work under the guidance of project leads to help manage team projects via task scheduling and tracking, issue management, status reporting, budget management, and stakeholder communication
  • Develop statistical, mathematical and predictive models using strategic business understanding to build the algorithms necessary to ask the right questions and find the right answers
  • Explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources in order to identify, provide reporting on, and analyze trends in KPIs as well as regular reporting for customer applications
  • Provide technical analysis and specifications for visual analytics and reporting needs, and assist with QA and testing of new dashboarding/widgets
  • Provide key insights through building dashboard widgets that enable customers/internal stakeholders to have an ongoing conversation with data
  • Build out a world-class data analytics team, and promote a data smart and analytics aware culture across the Sealed Air organization

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Master’s Degree in Data Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science projects and problem solving
  • Project experience with Manufacturing operations is a plus
  • Proficiency with R and Python; familiarity with SAS, SQL, JAVA, Spark,  C/C++
  • Distributed computing, data mining, predictive modeling
  • Statistical methodologies & machine learning
  • Story-telling and visualizing
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a desire to work in R&D
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Can work effectively with remote teams
  • Experience in predictive, prescriptive and cognitive analytics
  • Excellent project management, organization, attention to detail
