Summary
Are you a "jack of all trades accountant"? Then this job is for you! Sealed Air is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to be a part of a small general accounting retained team charged with ensuring that the Americas financial statements and general ledgers are accurate. This role comes with high visibility and ample opportunity for growth!
Responsibilities
• A well-rounded accounting person that has experience many different aspects of the B/S and P&L
• This person will be the go to for the other departments within the entity and outside of the entity
• This person needs to have a variety of experience with different accounting functions.
• Ensure that:
o The Americas financial statements and general ledgers are accurate and in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
o Financial statements and other financial schedules are submitted incompliance with company policies and in accordance with Corporate timelines.
• Support completion of monthly journal entries and closing of books.
• Support monthly, quarterly, annual schedules reporting to Corporate team.
• Assist with SAP implementation and reporting from a different system
• Takes full ownership of a set of general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support of accounting services to the North American payroll and benefits team. Ensure weekly and semimonthly payroll accounting is well documented and understood. Ensure third party payroll accounting systems are kept up to date and all payroll files are accurate. Provide backup support to payroll supervisor.
• Implement existing Internal Control procedures and Company policies in close relation with Regional Internal Control Manager and Internal Audit
• Work closely with internal and external auditors to provide needed information when requested. Support Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) programs and procedures.
• Promote continuous improvement efforts and process optimization. This role is looked at the GL systems expert. Role will participate in SAP system enhancements or selection. Role will also identify and help implement process improvements within SEE and the outsource teams.
• Participate in and help manage special projects as they arise.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of corporate experience (Manufacturing prefered)
- Excel skills; IFS would be great; SAP would be great; Implementation of systems would be great
