Job Description

Supply Planning Analyst (Center of Excellence)

Location: Charlotte, NC | Hybrid (2 days onsite/week)

We’re looking for a highly analytical, tech-savvy, and self-driven Supply Planning Analyst to join our global Center of Excellence team. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming supply planning by bridging strategic planning needs with advanced data and automation solutions. You’ll partner with global and regional teams to optimize tools, models, and processes - helping to drive smarter, faster, and more resilient decision-making across our supply chain network.

Ideal candidates are curious problem solvers who thrive at the intersection of business strategy, systems thinking, and technical execution. You’ll use your programming expertise in Python, R, SQL, or VBA to automate tasks, build predictive models, and develop custom tools that extend the capabilities of SAP and other planning systems. You’ll also collaborate cross-functionally to turn complex planning needs into intuitive dashboards, scalable workflows, and data-driven insights.

This is a high-impact, hybrid role for someone who’s equally comfortable writing code and leading strategic conversations - someone who can balance big-picture planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Analytical:

  • Partner with supply planners to enhance mid- and long-term supply planning performance.
  • Translate planning challenges into digital solutions using data models and scenario simulation.
  • Lead or contribute to projects focused on inventory optimization, lead time reduction, and capacity planning.
  • Support the development of global supply planning best practices and KPIs.

Technical & Automation:

  • Build and maintain scripts in Python, R, SQL, or VBA to automate planning tasks (e.g., data cleansing, exception alerts, custom dashboards).
  • Connect SAP data with custom reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, or web-based apps). Ensure data integrity and governance when integrating SAP with reporting tools.
  • Work with IT to prototype digital supply chain tools that fill functional gaps in standard SAP.
  • Create simulation models for what-if analysis (e.g., capacity constraints, raw material shortages).

Systems & Process Support:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for SAP planning modules (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, APO, or IBP).
  • Train planning users on digital tools, dashboards, and planning system enhancements.
  • Perform data validations and logic checks between SAP and external data layers.
  • Support UAT and rollout of global SAP planning enhancements.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in supply planning tools and data flow.

Travel requirements:

  • Anticipated travel once or twice a year for work sessions with regional teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in supply planning, operations planning, or related field.
  • Proven proficiency in **SAP ECC/S4 (MM, PP, APO, or IBP modules) **.
  • Strong programming skills in at least two of: **Python, R, SQL, VBA, or JavaScript**.
  • Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills for reporting and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn data into business insights and drive change.
  • Experience with Power BI (preferred) or any other visualization tool.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Planning experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting or network optimization tools.
  • Experience working in a global or matrixed supply chain environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP logic, lead time modeling, and inventory policies.
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in supply chain.
