Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity - Consumer Goods Industry Manager role come up within Sealed Air Protective business unit.
This Consumer Goods Industry Manager will report directly into Sales Director with base location either in Shanghai or Guangzhou. The successful candidate will be the driving force behind the growth and profitability of our China Protective Consumer Goods business segnment. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining our strong market presence while aggressively pursuing and capturing new business opportunities. You will translate vision into execution, ensuring we not only meet but exceed our ambitious commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop annual sales plans, budgets, and market expansion strategies for the consumer goods industry, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy.
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify new market opportunities and growth areas.
- Be responsible for industry sales forecasting, performance tracking and analysis, and regular reporting to management.
Team Management & Leadership
- Directly lead a sales team of 5 members, being responsible for their recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Set clear team and individual sales targets and drive the team to execute efficiently to ensure goal achievement.
- Develop the team's professional sales capabilities and solution-selling skills, fostering a culture of initiative and high performance.
Client & Channel Management
- Manage and expand the predominantly channel-based (agents, distributors) sales network
- Maintain and deepen strategic partnerships with key direct clients, including national or regional large chain brands and e-commerce platforms.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to develop and execute enablement programs, incentive policies, and marketing activities for channel partners.
Sales Execution & Solution Promotion
- Drive sales of flexible film packaging materials and related packaging equipment.
- Lead the team in providing integrated packaging solutions for clients, encompassing material selection, equipment specification, and production line efficiency improvement.
- Lead negotiations, bidding, and contract signing for major projects, ensuring project profitability and customer satisfaction.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management, R&D, Technical Service, and Supply Chain departments to ensure delivery of the most competitive products and services to clients.
- Provide feedback on market insights and customer needs to support company product innovation and solution optimization.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Polymer Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years specifically focused on the consumer goods packaging industry (food & beverage, daily chemicals, personal care, etc.).
- Proven successful experience managing a sales team at least 3 years.
Exceptional Channel Management Skills:
- Extensive experience in developing, managing, and incentivizing agent/distributor networks, with proficiency in formulating channel policies and resolving conflicts.
- Demonstrated track record where channel business contributed to over 70% of sales.
Deep Industry Knowledge & Solution Selling Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of flexible film packaging materials and their applications in consumer goods.
- Familiarity with the co-selling model of packaging equipment and materials.
- Ability to integrate materials and equipment based on client needs to provide value-added solutions.
Outstanding Leadership & Business Development Abilities:
- Strategic thinker capable of developing effective market entry and growth strategies.
- Excellent data analysis, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a multinational corporation or a leading domestic packaging company.
- Established network of client and channel resources within the consumer goods industry.
- Have a good command of English speaking and writing.
