The Mechanical Engineer, working within the I&D Equipment Engineering team and closely with equipment and business unit sales & marketing, will manage and execute projects utilizing creative and innovative skills to ensure that Sealed Air systems solutions meet cost targets and comply with functional and technical specifications. The Mechanical Engineer will work with engineers, designers, technical sales, technical service, and equipment manufacturing to develop packaging equipment solutions to support both the Sealed Air Food Care materials and equipment business.


Major responsibilities for this position will focus on:
-    Support - Provide both internal technical support and external customer support at a level which is above the skills of a technical service representative.
-    Design – Perform conceptualization, layout, design, in-house testing, field-qualification and documentation of prototype development systems and custom engineered solutions.  Analyze mechanical systems, according to widely accepted engineering and scientific principles/theories.  
-    Project Management - Execute detailed technical project plans.  Ensure deliverables are met and communicate project health to stakeholders both internal and external.  Serve as liaison between Sealed Air Food Care and customer to provide a successful outcome for all parties.  
-    Program Management – Initiate corrective action projects to ensure continuous product line improvement.  Maintain regulatory compliance, including safety and sanitation.  Supply engineering knowledge to drive key business decisions.


-    Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Required
-    3+ years of Design Project experience Preferred
-    Ability to meet technical challenges with creative and innovative solutions
-    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-    Strong Interpersonal Skills
-    Exceptional problem solving and electrical design abilities
-    Possesses a strong “hands-on” aptitude with regards to equipment and/or mechanisms
-    Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
-    Proficient in 2D CAD (DraftSight preferred)
-    Working familiarity with Microsoft Office products
-    Working familiarity with Microsoft Project software
-    Requires up to 25% travel
