Job Description

Position Summary/Objective:
The position focuses data-driven quality improvement opportunities.  Seeking a quality expert with a broad understanding of medical quality systems and practical experience with implementation and driving quality improvement activities.  The Quality Engineer leads activities focused on continuous improvement in support of Sealed Air Corporation and our customers.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Oversee the operation and support of the electronic Quality Management System to ensure its effective use within the plant. 
•    Lead continuous monitoring and enhancement of quality control processes through detailed data analysis and regular testing.
•    Develop proficiency in and assess existing quality systems infrastructure and tools as needed to develop new or improved tools, systems, or solutions to increase organizational and operational efficiency.
•    Conduct audits to verify adherence to departmental SOPs and product specifications, collaborating with leadership to address nonconformances.
•    Initiate and manage corrective action processes to resolve quality issues, ensuring robust and sustainable solutions.
•    Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex quality issues and respond to customer complaints effectively.
•    Act as a key agent in promoting and shaping a proactive quality culture within the plant.
•    Ensure all quality documentation and SOPs are controlled, accessible, and up to date.
•    Prepares quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
•    Helps set and update quality KPI throughout the plant.
•    Responsible for developing and writing quality training documents.  Conducts routine refresher training for key quality procedures and processes for the plant. 
•    Provide essential support during audits from customers or accrediting bodies.
•    Fulfill other tasks as assigned by management to meet business needs.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree required. 
•    Preferred degree in engineering or technical field. 
•    Minimum of 1 year’s experience in software configuration and support. 
•    Experience in computer science preferred. 
•    Preferred medical device or pharmaceutical quality background. 
•    Inclusive leader with management of people experience preferred.
•    The ability to effectively communicate across functional groups including; shop floor personnel, plant leadership, global engineering, research and development, our customers and to Sealed Air leaders.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Team, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
•    Experienced ins statistical analysis. 
•    Experienced in training and technical writing. 
•    Willing to learn and demonstrate a can-do attitude and to perform hands-on duties.
•    Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal guidance from management.
•    Able to read, write and speak English with excellent verbal and written skills.
•    Legally employable in the United States.
•    Able to travel up to 20% for facility visits to meet business needs.
