Job Description

The Senior Design Associate will work with Engineers, Designers, Die Fabrication Shop employees, vendors, and others to design, develop, modify, evaluate and document new or improved process equipment within the scope of the Extrusion Systems Group.
 

Job Responsibilities
1.    Perform all work in a safe and orderly manner, and promote a safe work environment and culture
2.    Under minimum supervision, perform complex design and drafting assignments requiring sound application of basic engineering principles
3.    Communicate effectively within the work group and with others in Global Engineering and across Supply Chain to acquire project information and develop design specifications
4.    Coordinate own activities as assigned within program timelines and financial constraints
5.    Recommend improvements / modifications to achieve desired results.
6.    Train / instruct production operators or other plant personnel in the use of new or modified equipment

 

Individual must be willing to:
•    Learn and use SolidWorks design software and accompanying databases including parts design templates, drawing number systems and documentation databases.
•    Learn advanced solid modeling techniques to support Engineering design requirements.
•    Adapt schedules to changing priorities.
•    Travel to manufacturing plants globally when required
•    Work a limited amount of  overtime, as necessary
•    Interface with diverse cultures
•    Conduct himself / herself in accordance with the Sealed Air Code of Conduct.

Qualifications


Individual must have: 
•    Minimum 5 years in precision fabrication experience, working with various metalworking tools fabricating parts with tight tolerances
•    High School diploma or GED
•    Demonstrated ability to work creatively and independently.
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Basic MS Office skills including Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer
•    General knowledge of Sealed Air production equipment is a plus
•    Experience with SolidWorks  or AutoCAD design and drafting software is a plus (but can be learned as part of the job training)
