What does a Business Development Leader do?

A Business Development Leader (BDL) identifies new business opportunities to generate revenue, enhance profitability, and foster business growth. This involves strategic planning, market positioning, and improving business operations or reputation. By carefully analyzing market trends and competition, a BDL develops and implements strategies to expand the business's reach and success in the medical sector.

Why we need you?

  • Promote SEE as the leader in large or low volume parenteral (LVP) packaging, ostomy barrier film, and biopharmaceutical film, driving sales and market presence.
  • Become a trusted business partner for existing key customers by proactively engaging in dialogue, service, and interaction to strengthen relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop new prospects by identifying and converting potential opportunities into regular, ongoing sales, expanding our customer base.
  • Raise SEE's profile in the EMEA market by understanding and addressing customer needs, positioning us as a market leader.
  • Collaborate with the I&D team on new product ideas and development, ensuring our offerings meet market demands.
  • Explore parallel markets to identify additional opportunities for growth and diversification.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level with a preference for technical subjects.
  • Experience in the field, ideally with exposure to the medical sector, demonstrating good business acumen and communication skills.
  • Willing to travel more than 40% of the time and develop relationships with new prospects.
  • Represent SEE in international exhibitions and congresses.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) and at least one other language (preferably German, but French, Italian, or Spanish also accepted).
