About The Role:

We have an exciting leadership position available in our Supply Chain Quality function. Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Quality Operations, this Executive Director of Quality and External Products, APAC leadership role will base in our Fawkner site Australia and lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System for the APAC region.

 

He/She establishes standards for Quality Tools, Test Methods/Equipment, and leading the Quality function for SEE within the region.

 

This leader will be responsible to position the Quality agenda at the highest priority within the Regional Supply Chain team by integrating Customer needs and requirements with business priorities and objectives and process capability.

 

The role is that of a Quality Leader who can leverage existing plant and corporate resources to identify and address gaps in existing Quality Management Systems, Tools, Testing and Equipment.

 

The candidate will develop and implement action plans with the APAC plants (26) and external suppliers to close these gaps and monitor progress against plans.

 

This position will lead the plants in achieving defined defect reduction goals in the short term with a vision and plan to achieve double digit PPM performance in the near future by implementing the processes and infrastructure defined above.

 

The role will own the Quality component of a current Smart Factory Implementation project and assure data output/control/processes are tied into Quality and Operational Excellence procedures.

 

This position will be responsible for documenting the required processes and procedures and will own the SEE Global Quality Intranet site for this region so others can reference, share, and implement Best Practices.

 

Finally, this strong leader will have to be seen as a driver and the point person for APAC leadership for all quality related topic

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables are:

Drive Flawless Quality

  • Develop, lead, execute processes and/or strategies to drive the operational sites within the APAC region to the Flawless Quality standard for all critical Quality KPIs - External PPM, Internal Spoilage, Blocked Stock, Intercompany Defects. Optimize tracking, documentation, and reporting for each

Manage Emerging/Major Issues

  • Manage historical, current, or new/emerging Quality escalations to ensure the appropriate resource engagement, awareness, prioritization, and coordination to meet critical milestones for the business.
  • Serve as the regional chair of the major issue working group in the event of a major Quality/Operational issue.

EPO Supplier Qualification

  • Signoff on all new supplier approvals for APAC EPO. This can occur in person; however, is primarily performed virtually and/or delegated to the Asia and ANZ teams.
  • Review and sign off the deliverables have been met for supplier qualifications

Product Technology (PLE and RMQ)

  • Lead/facilitate/manage monthly call for the APAC PLE/RMQ stage gate review.
  • Engage with the PLE/RMQ regional portfolio to ensure projects meet objectives (ie timing, cost and quality)

Leadership support

  • Encourage positive Leadership culture across the business and within the Quality team.
  • Attend and represent Quality at any applicable regional or country-level leadership meetings.

About The Person:

  • BS degree in a Technical Field, such as Quality, Mathematics or Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Systems and its implementation in a multi-site global network
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to organize ‘activities” into actions, projects, or larger-scale initiatives
  • Advanced Change Agent skills and excellence in global implementation of process and process change
  • Strong, data-based approach and knowledge of statistics, the application of SPC and systems design
  • Proven track record in leading a regional team of professionals to achieve significant step change improvements against predefined goals.
  • Demonstrated skills in both written and verbal communications across a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Key is the ability to effectively influence Quality technical professionals and Site / Region SC Leadership.
  • Expertise in Lean Six Sigma techniques (Black Belt preferred) and CI methodologies
