Job Description


This position is within a growing, multi-disciplinary group that develops innovative new electro-mechanical products. Although providing the design of electrical control systems for new products is the primary contribution of this position, the team collaborates broadly to achieve its goals. This allows opportunities for all members to contribute in a wide range of development engineering roles including the conception of new approaches to problems, product definition, system-level and subsystem design, engineering testing and first product builds.  Sealed Air utilizes a structured and defined process with objective targets for technical position advancement.




  • Works as a member of team that develops new products in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with a variety of technical disciplines effectively to achieve project goals
  • Provide contributions to the completion of plans, schedules, and cost estimation for assigned tasks
  • Assist in the selection of components and completion of wiring plans that supply electric power to industrial machines
  • Complete electrical schematics for industrial control systems
  • Contribute during system integration with diagnosis, measurements and updates as needed
  • Participate in vendor meetings to evaluate options to meet product requirements and schedule 
  • Provide content for the completion of product documentation packages
  • Support manufacturing department by answering questions during fabrication and troubleshooting during production startup and as needed later in the life of products
  • Less than 10% domestic or international travel required




  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience and a strong technical knowledge base in engineering electrical industrial controls and power systems for industrial machinery is required
  • Able to identify, read and follow electrical standards pertinent to assignments
  • Capable of creating clear, organized electrical schematics and electrical system documentation
  • Excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and multi-task in a collaborative environment
  • Must be familiar with typical PC applications (Word, Excel, Visio) and electrical design software tools (experience with a specific tool is not necessary)
  • 4+ years of experience


Beneficial Qualifications


  • Experience with PLC programming for industrial controls and automation
  • Familiarity with custom circuit board (PCB) development
  • Ability to design and write software for embedded applications
  • Capable of designing solutions for common digital and analog circuit requirements
