About the Role

The New Zealand commercial team are looking for an Application and Development Engineer to join the team.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Executive Director ANZ Sales and Strategy, you will be responsible for supporting business development across new and existing products, providing technical assistance and support to SEE’s customer base and sales teams, conducting customer audits to identify value and efficiency gains and owning the implementation of these projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits and uncover continuous improvement opportunities relating to materials, process, labour, automation, sustainability, equipment, and engineering. Then, drive these projects through to implementation.
  • Troubleshoot issues in the field with SEE’s materials & our customers equipment to ensure optimum performance.
  • Conduct and/or supervise customer on site trials to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Own and drive the use of the DVP&R process and ensure customer Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements are understood and met.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on projects, application trials, packaging materials and systems.
  • Conduct customer training on SEE materials and their interaction with packaging equipment.
  • Provide technical advice and support to equipment suppliers to optimize SEE product performance.
  • Develop relationships with SEE’s customers at all levels, management, technical, quality, engineering, maintenance, production, QA etc
  • Ensure New Product Introduction Process is defined and followed.

About the Person

  • Experience and familiarity in Fresh Red Meat industry
  • A strong skill set in manufacturing processes.
  • A solid understanding of packaging materials and their applications.
  • Market expertise or a proven ability to quickly learn, to enable the identification of material attributes and customer needs.
  • Product development experience in the plastics or similar industries.
  • Ability to network internally across different functional teams both locally and internationally.
