Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Manager to drive and oversee all aspects of Quality management across our Hamilton site. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will champion quality improvement, enhance processes, and ensure the delivery of superior products and services, while fostering a culture of excellence.

This role encompasses all Hamilton-distributed products, whether locally manufactured, outsourced, or sourced inter-company.

Job Description

  • As a member of the site leadership team, provide strategic leadership in Quality improvement methodologies.
  • Ensure new products and product extensions are introduced in a systematic way and ensure all Quality requirements are achieved.
  • Coach and be a role model of the behaviours required to achieve excellent Quality performance both within our plant and for our customers.
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships with members of the Leadership Team to remain aware of any issues affecting Quality.
  • Maintain monthly Quality meetings and lead the activities around these meetings locally and regionally.
  • Develop and performance manage staff within your team.
  • Provide guidance and support for performance management to ensure staff meet the Quality behaviours and expectations on site.
  • Act with urgency to protect the customer and expedite return to steady state.
  • Drive performance improvement by facilitating regular measured reviews around Quality with manufacturing departments.
  • Design, implement and maintain an effective Quality management system in accordance with corporate, regulatory and FSSC certification requirements.
  • Support process improvement projects utilizing industry best practice methods to solve problems and improve overall Quality performance.
  • Lean and/or participate to investment projects related to Quality and process improvement.
  • Liaise with other functions across SEE to ensure the voice of the customer is heard and the organization drives towards total customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate and support Customer complaint investigations and issues in a timely and professional fashion. Ensure that corrective and preventative actions are taken by the appropriate functions.
  • Benchmark & discuss with other SEE sites to collect best practice ideas.
  • In line with business objectives, perform other duties as assigned.

About the Person

  • A tertiary qualification in an engineering or science discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/operations leadership in a similarly scaled organization.
  • Proven experience in Quality roles within the Packaging/Chemical industries, with strong knowledge of Quality processes and standards.
  • Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent (or willingness to achieve certification within 12 months).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate Quality initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in policy and procedure development, report writing, and presenting at regional/global levels.
  • Strong people management skills, supported by experience or a Frontline Management qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
