The Assistant Operator works with and assists the Operator and is responsible for maintaining the quality of material by making continual adjustments.

Job Description

The role includes, but is not limited to:

Knows and follows all safety rules and procedures
Maximizing production output while maintaining product quality
Training Manufacturing Helpers and temporary contractors
Running the line in the absence of the Operator
Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair functions to optimize machinery
Using SAP to record daily production and downtime
General maintenance and housekeeping of the area
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•   High School Diploma or equivalent
•   Experience working in manufacturing running equipment
•   Ability to speak, read, and write English
•   Good safety record
•   Good attendance record
•   Demonstrated problem-solving skills
•   Intermediate communication skills
•   Willingness to learn
•   An understanding of basic math functions is required
•   Ability to read a tape measure
•   Capability and experience training others
•   Average Mechanical Aptitude
•   Self-Motivated
•   Ability to work independently
•   Proven success working in teams
•   Available for overtime, weekends, holidays, flexible shifts, as needed
•   Ability to safely lift (up to) 40 lbs.
•   Ability to stand for extended periods of time
