Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will coordinate the transportation and logistics in all aspects of support of the Manufacturing Facility in a professional manner. The qualified candidate must have strong initiative and be able to organize, prioritize, and follow through on everyday tasks while working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates need to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills in their daily activities.

 

Job Description

  • •    Work closely with customer service and the Materials Manager to resolve issues that occur throughout the day 
    •    Create purchase order requisitions and obtain approvals
    •    Ship material and products daily and complete transactions in SAP, ERP, FedEx, and UPS Worldwide systems
    •    Effectively communicate with internal and external customers, staff, and management
    •    Book and schedule of outbound truck needs
    •    Coordinate inbound product
    •    Coordinate between operations, customer service, external and suppliers and carriers 
    •    Work with company approved carriers to meet all customer delivery requirements
    •    Minimize logistics costs while maintaining superior service by working with the Materials Manager 
    •    Resolve service issues with carriers in expedited fashion. Communicate resolution timely and properly 
    •    Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years’ experience in logistics coordination 
  • 3+ years’ experience and expertise in a variety of computer-based systems and programs including the UPS Worldwide, FedEx, ERP, and SAP (Visual ERP a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) 
  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills
  • Must have a passion to service our customers 
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to think quickly and effectively resolve issues 
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task in a busy setting 
  • Understanding of procedures and processes to issue and transfer material
  • Flexibility to work required hours to complete tasks and special projects
