Our growing company is looking for a Team Quality Leader to join our team! This position will be responsible for assessment, design, implementation, and execution of quality programs and processes that support the continuous improvement of the business and reduction of quality incidents and customer complaints.  The candidate must be an effective leader who possesses a strong aptitude for data analysis and interpretation of information, technically minded, can work with little direction, and has a good understanding of quality systems and processes. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous quality control improvement through the methodical collection and analysis of quality data.
  • Audits current processes for conformance to departmental SOC’s and product specifications.
  • Works with departmental leadership to initiate corrective action process when nonconformances are discovered.
  • Leads and/or collaborates with cross functional teams to define and solve complex and/or recurring quality issues using a DMAIC systems approach.
  • Positive and influential change leader.  Agent in charge of shaping quality culture for the plant.  
  • Responsible for assuring document control of all approved quality documents.
  • Prepares quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Helps set and update quality KPI throughout the plant.
  • Responsible for developing and writing quality training documents.  Conducts routine refresher training for key quality procedures and processes for the plant. 
  • Updates and manages effective usage of SPC in the departments.
  • Updates and monitors CpK (capability) performance.
  • Assures compliance of E-Methods and Specification adherence.
  • Charged in assuring Key 8 and SQF compliance is being met throughout the plant.
  • Responsible for defining, implementing, and executing programs and processes used to achieve plant and PPM goals, while also driving down departmental spoilage and quality related yield losses.
  • Accountable to ensuring effective execution and control of non-conforming materials throughout the plant.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of statistical fundamentals
  • Strong working knowledge of the manufacturing processes or technical background
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting to groups of people at various levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects simultaneously
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs.
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
  • High awareness toward safety.
  • Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized quality training or quality certifications a plus
  • Lean six sigma training a plus. Green or Black belt certification preferred.
  • Associate/college-level courses or trade school preferred, but not necessary.
  • Past leadership experience a plus

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting at least 30lbs.
  • Hand/eye coordination.

Job Description

- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand - Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature - Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials - Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing - Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations - Responsibilities are within Manufacturing/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
