Job Description

To accurately mount printing plates for all machines that require plate mounting, laminated, paper and shrink product in line with the ISO 9001 - 2000 standard.

Responsibilities

1.    To set the mount plates machine using the correct process information (SOP’s and SOC’s), considering the following;
o    All formulation, current and newly introduced – CS Nylon / BX Nylon / Barrier Tubing or paper
o    Checking that the print register is within specifications
o    Checking that all the specifications are correct before released for printing. (Repeat lengths, slit widths, placement of eye marks and slit lines, ensure no damage is on plates and plates are taped down not to lift) 
2.    Control of raw material usage
o    Check the production plan and ensure jobs are amounted accordingly
o    All jobs should be mounted mounted 100% accurate
o    Checklists should be completed with every job
o    Plates should be cleaned and stored after being used, jobs bundled together using foam to ensure no damage when stored
3.    Safety
o    Operate the mounting machine in compliance with SEE safety rules and regulations
o    Report any hazards that he/she may observe in his/her working area to the Supervisor or Safety   representative and correct those which he/she can act on
o    Do random Safety Observations and submit to Supervisor.
4.    Quality
o    Always follow the Sealed Air Africa Pty (Ltd) Quality Policy Manual ISO 90001: 2000 for product specification. 
o    Ensure that the production details for each job are recorded accurately and neatly on the Q.C log sheet.
o    Ensure that QC check are done and recorded on all orders as per the specification.
5.    Responsibility for Equipment belonging to SEE
o    To have a fair understanding of the mechanical operation of his/her machine in order to carry out corrective action when faults occur in the mounting process
o    Maintain the working condition of the mounting machine by doing preventative maintenance on a weekly basis
o    Responsible for the safety, care, cleaning and reasonable maintenance of all equipment used by yourself
o    Ultimately responsible for the computers and printers under your control, even if also in use by other personnel.
i.    Maintain good housekeeping of all areas under your control
ii.    Ensure that ISO 9001 – 2000 principles are followed with all daily activities
 

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum Matric/Grade 12
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a FMCG manufacturing
  • Computer literacy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility
  • Accurate and precision
  • Great housekeeping ability
