Job Description

Based in Spartan, the incumbent of this position will provide a full technical service function to the Technical Service team in the Service and Application department. The duties will involve assistance to the technical team on the following

Responsibilities

•    The installation of specialized packaging systems equipment in industrial packaging market and food and consumer products manufacturing and process facilities throughout Southern Africa
•    Technical services on planned maintenance in respect of all customer equipment with the possibility of working weekends and after hours
•    Troubleshooting and dealing with any breakdowns of equipment
•    Extensive technical liaison with customers on an advisory and diagnostic basis across a full spectrum of customer technical personnel
•    Spare parts ordering, including administration of all necessary documentation and quotations/pricing of parts and services
•    Stock take and control of spare parts
•    Ensure that critical spare parts are maintained
•    Initiating technical service reports identifying technical deviations and initiating necessary actions
•    Ensuring customer satisfaction at all times
•    Maintain a positive cost coverage
•    Develop & boost cooperation and solutions with strategic partners, including service technicians and external customers
•    The position will involve fairly extensive travelling throughout Southern Africa

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

•    A recognized technical qualification as an Electrician or Artisan or in the process to complete
•    Knowledge of mechanics and pneumatics plus PLC experience will be an advantage
•    Experience in a related industry will be an advantage
•    In position of a code 08 valid drivers’ license and valid SA passport
•    High levels of energy and technical problem-solving capabilities
•    Self starter
•    Interpersonal and communication skills
•    Good time management skills
•    Ability to work in a team
•    Ability to work alone
•    Ability to prioritize work
•    Ability to work overtime and weekends
