Job Description
We have an immediate career opportunity for a Materials Manager in our Lenoir, NC Product Care Manufacturing Facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee production planning activities ensuring coordination with production management
- Oversee/coordinate schedule changes and expedites, as required
- Links directly with all departments to resolve supply chain problems
- Monitors extraordinary circumstances that impede production and advises Plant Manager
- Works directly with plant personnel to advise them of purchasing & inventory goals
- Managing the planning & purchase raw material & production supplies to support production plan
- Forecasting of materials.
- Coordinate supplier selection, program/supplier start-ups and ongoing source recommendations
- Establish Purchase Order (P.O.) pricing and delivery requirements
- Ensure compliance with Purchasing policies, government, and other legal requirements
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or BSBA degree required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an organizational culture of high performance, employee involvement, and continuous improvement and team concepts.
- Good understanding of capital and expense budgets
- Excellent understanding of strategic and operational planning
- Proven ability to solve complex problems.
- Solid working knowledge of inventory control, production scheduling, plant equipment, and plant raw materials.
- Ability to partner with internal and external customers
- A very high degree of professionalism, detail orientation, high productivity, flexibility, and enthusiasm are required in this role.
- Strong knowledge of and extensive experience with SAP tools/principles.
- Proficient with PCs and Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access).
- CPIM accreditation a plus.
- 3 or more years of progressive Production Control/Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
- Six Sigma Certification a plus
