IT Cyber Security Manager

What does an IT Cyber Security Manager Do?

• Lead complex incident response investigations and perform root cause analysis to mitigate risks
• Proactively conduct threat hunting to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Perform detailed forensic analysis of compromised systems to understand breaches and their impacts
• Manage and coordinate the incident response process to ensure timely and effective actions across the SOC team
• Provide recommendations on security architecture and design to enhance the organization's security posture
• Manage and mentor a team including training entry level analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve overall team performance
• Assist with the refinement of security policies, procedures, and playbooks to standardize incident response and security operations
• Collaborate with external partners, such as vendors and threat intelligence providers, to stay informed about emerging threats and leverage external expertise
• Continuously evaluate and improve SOC processes, tools, and technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness
• Provide strategic insights and regular reports to senior management on SOC performance, emerging threats, and security trends

What are we looking for in You?

• University educated (BA/BS)
• Strong verbal and written communications; ability to analyze large volumes of information and define “the big picture”
• Strong analytical abilities
• Business and financial acumen
• Experience in working with internal and external, local and global team members to deliver results

Expertise needed in more than one of the following areas by any applicant, but the role will require learning and leading activities in all areas over time:

• Advanced Threat Detection: Threat hunting, intrusion detection, SIEM tools
• Malware analysis: Reverse engineering, malware forensics, mitigation strategies
• Security Architecture: Security design, risk assessment, architectural review
• Incident Response: Forensic analysis, root cause investigation, incident management
• Policy Development: Security policies, playbook creation, procedural refinement
• Vendor Collaboration: Threat intelligence, vendor management, external partnerships
• SOC Optimization: Process improvement, tool evaluation, operational efficiency

• Can work effectively with remote teams across multiple time zones
