IT Operations Modern Workplace Technical Leader

Summary

The IT Modern Workplace Technical leader is a technical leadership role responsible for implementing the design and support of Microsoft solutions that enable collaboration, productivity, and security for the organization. The IT Modern Workplace Technical Leader will participate and oversee a team of IT professionals who manage the Microsoft 365, UEM tools, and Windows PC environments, as well as the integration of other cloud and on-premises services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Microsoft 365 suite as it relates to end user experience and unified endpoint management (UEM).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the IT strategy and roadmap for Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, aligning with the business objectives and IT standards.
• Design, implement and manage the delivery and operation of Microsoft 365 Unified Endpoint Management solutions, including device enrollment, policy configuraiton, and application deployment. 
• Implement security policies and configurations to ensure the protection of endpoints, while managing security baselines and compliance policies to meet organizational security standards.
• Lead the implementation of migration, adoption, and optimization of Microsoft cloud services, such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Intune.
• Design and implement solutions that leverage Microsoft technologies to enhance collaboration, communication, and productivity across the organization.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the IT team and end users on Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, resolving issues and escalating as needed.
• Monitor and report on the usage, health, and performance of Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, and evaluate their applicability and feasibility for the organization.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation for Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, ensuring alignment with IT governance and compliance frameworks.
• Train and mentor the IT team and end users on Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

What are we looking for in You?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years of experience in managing Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows 10 administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft cloud services, such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Intune.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft security and compliance solutions, such as Azure Active Directory, Azure Information Protection, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Compliance Manager.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft hybrid and integration solutions, such as Azure AD Connect, Azure AD Sync, Azure AD Federation Services, and Azure VPN Gateway.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft deployment and management tools, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and Microsoft Update.
• Strong knowledge and experience in network and infrastructure technologies, such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, and firewall.
• Strong knowledge and experience in scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation.
• Strong knowledge and experience in project management and IT service management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, ITIL, and COBIT.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong customer service and user experience skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality and user-friendly solutions.
• Strong learning and innovation skills, with the ability to keep up with the latest technologies and trends in Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions.
• Certification in Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, is preferred.
