Job Location:    UK - Malvern   

 

The Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day business Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety policies, processes and procedures, to help build our position within ‘Best in Class’ Business Management Processes. 
This role will report directly to the Production Manager, whilst also supporting the rest of the Management Team by maintaining the Quality, Environmental and H&S Systems throughout the Plant.
This position also requires the individual taking an active role within the plant, to ensure H&S, environmental and Product Quality is always maintained to the highest possible standards throughout the business at all times. 

This position requires a forward thinking individual with a ‘Can Do’ approach for ensuring Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are followed daily throughout the plant. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • To maintain and where needed, update the quality standards, systems and procedures for the plant and ensuring we are compliant.  
  • To maintain our internal audit procedures and record keeping.  
  • To assist with the management of external audits 
  • To assist with the improvement of the quality management procedures through analysis of performance and data following through with the implementation of identified actions.  
  • Reviewing customer requirements and ensuring that they are met including following up on customer returns and permanent corrective actions.    
  • Support purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers and ensuring that these are fully adhered to by the suppliers.    
  • Ensure that manufacturing, supply chain and design / certification processes meet the required standards.    
  • Maintain the Business Continuity Plan ensuring that it is thorough, robust and tested.    
  • Ensure that internal quality standards are achieved, positively identifying issues and swiftly resolving these through improvement processes.    
  • Ensuring that the training plans across the business support the quality expectations.    
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.    
  • Lead the monitoring of site performance on Quality, Environmental and H+S issues by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports to be displayed throughout the plant for Visual Factory.    
  • Assist with making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation. 
  • Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policy, with ongoing monitoring.
  • Lead risk assessments throughout the plant, with a target of reducing associated risks. 
  • Assist with outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.    
  • Assist in-house training with employees about health and safety issues and risks management.    
  • Maintaining records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.    
  • Maintain records of incidents and accidents and producing statistic reports for the Management Team.    
  • Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the industry.    
  • Help Develop management reports, newsletters and bulletins for the site H&S.    
  • Maintain a high level of understanding on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.    
  • Has full managerial responsibility: has direct reports, assigns work to staff, provides coaching and training, sets goals, is accountable for performance evaluation, plans staff development and makes and approves people management decisions either alone or in collaboration with management and HR (including recruitment, promotions, terminations and compensation)

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 – 8 Years of experience
  • Experience and or knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems and ISO H&S Management Systems.
  • An Understanding of Lean Six Sigma Methodologies and World Class Manufacturing Practices.
  • High standard of written and spoken communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office
