What does a Engineering Project Manager do?

As a Enginering Project Manager specializing in extrusion technology and converting, you will be a key figure in our Regional Engineering Group.

 

You will lead projects to design and implement state-of-the-art extrusion systems, ensuring seamless collaboration with our Global Extrusion Platform Team and Supply Chain Hubs. Your responsibilities include defining project scope and objectives, managing timelines, and delivering safe, reliable, and efficient systems that align with sustainability goals. From concept design to commissioning, you will oversee every project phase, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to environmental standards.

  • Lead engineering design efforts: Use your expertise in specification development and material and equipment selection to create high-quality, functional designs that meet operational needs.
  • Oversee fabrication and construction: Apply your technical oversight to manage the fabrication and installation processes, ensuring timelines and standards are met.
  • Deliver reliable and sustainable systems: Showcase your ability to implement safe, operable, and efficient solutions while embedding sustainability as a core project driver.
  • Coordinate key project milestones: Leverage your organizational skills to manage activities like SDR (System Design Review), FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and commissioning, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Manage project controls: Use your proficiency in estimating, scheduling, cost management, and reporting to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Ensure safety and environmental alignment: Demonstrate your knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards to guide the design and execution of every project.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Experience in the design of extrusion and converting complex lines for the plastics industry, with expertise in resins and rheology (experience in foamed products is a plus).
  • Proficiency in multi-project management, including estimating, scheduling, cost control, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with CE and ATEX EU Directives, as well as EHS best practices and energy conservation/optimization.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in international teams and to select high-performing external partners.
  • Technical skills, including MS Office and AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
  • A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and curiosity to learn new processes and techniques.
  • Fluency in English and willingness to travel frequently within Europe and occasionally beyond.
