Job Description

 

MISSION:      
Provide technical support to internal and external customers.  
Help a wide variety of customers in addressing food safety and general microbiological concerns.  
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:      
•    Support Food Packaging R&D projects with technical expertise in the area of microbiology and food safety
•    Successfully lead and deliver innovation projects that add value for SEE and our customers
•    Serve as a food safety/microbiology subject matter expert 
•    Interact with Sealed Air’s and customers’ Senior management

Qualifications

•    University degree in Food Technology/Science, Microbiology or related fields and at least 1 year of experience in Microbiology area.
•    Ability to work independently in a microbiology Laboratory environment, managing test such as: shelf life, ISO22196, challenge test.
•    Proficient in media preparation, culture plating methods and sterile technique.
•    Ability to manage time and activities to deliver to assigned goals 
•    Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
•    Capability to develop and maintain bureaucratic documents needed by Italian Authorities, in collaboration with Passirana EH&S manager 
•    Excellent written and oral presentation skills in Italian and English
•    Ability to think critically
•    Self-motivated and with good problem-solving ability
•    Familiarity with software tools such as Word, Excel, Power Point
•    Understanding of experimental design and research statistics is considered a plus
