THE FOOD PACKAGING BUSINESS

The Food Packaging business of Sealed Air focuses on improving access to a safer, higher quality and more sustainable food and supply chain. Businesses rely on our innovative food packaging and hygiene solutions and expertise to help build their brands and improve food safety, shelf life and operational efficiency while reducing food waste.

THE ROLE

  • The Business Development Manager (Fluid & Food Service and Retail Sector), Thailand position is a newly created position with the objective of driving aggressive growth in the Food Packaging business in Thailand.
  • This position reports to National Business Development Manager – Thailand
  • This position is primarily focused on new business acquisition and may be required to spend 15 – 20% time working with existing key accounts within the specified sectors to keep track of changing market trends and customer requirements. The expectation is that the incumbent will spend at least 80% of the time on the new business acquisition process. This position will not be responsible for routine account management. This is a direct, customer-facing sales role with responsibility to close new revenue opportunities with both new and existing customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for new business development for Fluid & Food Service and Retail sectors
  • Perform white spot prospecting with local country team to identification of potential packaging opportunities and develop high quality prospect database
  • Wherever needed, collaborate with the respective sector, application development and key accounts teams to generate new business for the sectors assigned
  • Work with the regional sector teams to identify and develop relevant value propositions for the customers
  • Continuously focus on sales growth execution and sales target achievement through new account research and acquisition planning, leveraging sector expertise and local intelligence.
  • Lead account analysis, preliminary proposal, testing and rollout.
  • To work with the commercial sales team for a smooth handover after winning new business opportunity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, business, or degree relevant for this role. Master’s or advance degree desired but not essential.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful commercial experience in B2B/experience of selling to FMCG and Retail business are preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in direct value selling role with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in field sales, customer marketing, and/or category management in addition to knowledge of working with key or strategic accounts.

  • Good command over English language, both spoken and written.
  • A positive attitude towards new challenges, must be willing to stretch and strive
  • Self-starter with the confidence to take risk, partner with business leaders as required, lead change, and work transparently with all stakeholders.
  • High sense of drive and urgency, hunter type of sales skills
  • Experienced in planning and executing project, proven problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in managing time with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a cooperative work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
