Job Description

The Rogers Group Performance Leader (Department Manager) is responsible for their team and all metrics within their respective department(s) including: Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Productivity across a 24/7 operation. This includes the planning and on-time execution of the production schedule, achieving performance KPIs and targets, addressing challenges affecting improved and sustained performance initiatives in all key areas, assigning resources as needed as well as reporting performance and relevant issues into the daily integration meetings. The GPL champions the problem solving and continuous improvement process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Build and sustain a high performing team by managing and developing Team Performance Leaders (TPL) and other employees to achieve business objectives.
•    Complete ownership of safety, quality, service, and productivity KPIs in their area. 
•    Partner with cross functional teams to improve department operations.  
•    Review and present on daily performance to plant leadership and other stakeholders in the Daily Integration (DI) meetings.
•    Manage all aspects of the Performance Management System related to Rogers.
•    Partner with the maintenance department to coordinate planned maintenance activities.
•    Create a daily plan based on the output of the daily review, integration and scheduled meetings, which allows the GPL and TPLs to manage the critical daily activities that need to be completed.  
•    Recognize, initiate and support problem solving activities related to safety, quality, service and performance.
•    Responsible for day to day coaching, administering disciplinary action and terminations, in conjunction with appropriate levels of management and HR.
•    Provide support for all continuous improvement efforts which include implementation of new standards, procedures, and improvements.
•    Accountable for execution of production schedule.
•    Conduct performance appraisal reviews with all direct reports. 

MANAGES:
•    Full managerial responsibility of direct reports, assigns work, provides coaching and training, sets goals, is accountable for performance evaluations, plans employee development, makes and approves employee management decisions either alone or in collaboration with management and HR (including recruitment, promotions, demotions, terminations, and compensation).
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience – technical degree preferred
•    3-5 years progressive manufacturing experience
•    Green Belt Certification preferred


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
•    Able to work both independently and within a team, achieve company goals and results with general/minimal guidance from management
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills having professional presentation and negotiation skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
•    Self-Motivated to achieve company and facility goals
•    Must be adaptable, innovative and comfortable in setting own priorities
•    Polished presentation, business acumen and facilitation skills
•    Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles
•    Experience with high volume operations
•    Strong organization and planning skills
•    Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
•    Flexible schedule to support all shifts across a 24/7 operation
