Position Summary

SEE China Marketing organization is hiring an experience APAC Marketing Manager, Inflatables & Paper Solutions to be based in Shanghai China. The role reports into Portfolio and Solutions Director based in Singapore.

 

This position provides leadership and support for critical product and solutions for Protective Packaging. This role will be fully dedicated to helping support and lead the delivery of key projects and initiatives to deliver new innovations while optimizing product pricing and margins within the Protective Packaging Products and Solutions to help drive profitable growth for the APAC business.

Job Description

  • Price and Mix Management – Keeps track of actual material costs and helps manage pricing strategy for the region and for key accounts as needed; recommends acceptable price ranges; implements price increases as needed; approves deviation requests; works with Sales team to profitably grow business
  • Optimizes manufacturing costs – Develops projects in coordination with Supply Chain to improve direct manufacturing expenses, indirect overhead costs etc. Understands/reviews manufacturing savings projects and KPI’s on a regular basis
  • Product marketing management – Participates in strategy development; understands and helps support key marketing programs; ensures that we have the correct products and solutions in place to allow sales to execute key growth programs
  • Maximizes the P&L – With strategic direction and support from Senior Leadership, is responsible for helping manage the overall profitability of the business through gross profit (average selling price / manufacturing cost management with Sales and Supply Chain) for our Protective Packaging businesses across APAC.
  • Supports key customer/commercial engagements 
  • Optimizes SKU Management – Manages SKU’s and plant capabilities to make sure we have the right products where needed, while ensuring optimal production costs and efficiencies
  • Manages inventory targets – Ensures optimal finished goods inventory levels, liaises with sales to minimize aged inventory, and drives programs to achieve DOH targets
  • Manages mid and long-term capacity – Makes sure we have adequate capacity where needed to achieve sales forecast by reviewing and formulating the demand forecast; champions capital expenditure approval for business; works with Supply Chain & I&D as needed to investigate/execute new manufacturing processes & platforms
  • Product line stewardship – Provides product representation at trade shows as needed, helps coordinate the development of product specific marketing collateral, handles inquiries from the field, product training, etc.
  • Partners across teams & functions to drive execution – Works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, I&D, Marketing, & Sales teams to understand business needs, prioritizes initiatives to optimize the portfolio and facilitate execution of strategies to improve profitability and grow the business
  • Delivers Return on Investments – Prioritizes project queue to maximize impact on revenue and profits; launches new initiatives/products in partnership with I&D, Marketing, and Sales

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing / portfolio management, supply chain management, or financial management within a manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Product marketing, supply chain, R&D or finance backgrounds preferred
  • Able to understand complex issues and can clearly articulate complex ideas
  • Excellent project management, organization, attention to detail, follow-up
  • Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and self-start programs
  • Ability to communicate & liaise broadly across functions & the global organization
  • Deadline & detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to champion change, influence and drive results in a complex organization
  • Excellent relationship building skills complemented by the proven ability to work with others, especially across team boundaries
  • Intellectually curious, self-motivated
  • Ability to be self-directed and handle ambiguous environments
  • A change leader
  • Proficient with Office 365 – Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
