Job Description

- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand - Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature - Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials - Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing - Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations - Responsibilities are within Manufacturing/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Position Summary: $24.31 +$1.00 Tech Premium

A Process Data Technician will work independently to monitor all extrusion and racking process variables to ensure only quality material is sent to customers.  This position requires a high level of computer skill, the ability to learn to read data trends in Ignition, and a 100% pass rate on the Operator Quality Refresher Test.  A Process Data Technician will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a very high attendance rate. The expectation of this role is for 80% of the time spent in an office at a computer, with 10% of time on the production floor getting retains or verifying quality holds, and 10% of the time in the QC Lab performing retain testing. In addition, the technician is expected to spend 4pm to 4:30pm Monday through Friday gathering process status data for the night shift technician handover at 4:45pm-5pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Daily, Monday through Friday:
o    Attends DI Meeting at 9am
    Provides update on current held material, process issues, etc.
o    Monitors temperatures, head pressures, rpm, amps, downcomer weights, and throughput for 7 extruders per line, for up to 11 lines using Ignition
    This includes “catching up” on Mondays for data generated over the weekend
o    Monitors all temperatures and racking ratios for up to 48 racks using Ignition
    This includes “catching up” on Mondays for data generated over the weekend
o    Determines if any parameters were out of spec and what specific rolls or tape are affected using Ignition and Bags Web
o    Reports out performance status of saran (CC) extruders to plant manager, process engineering, and production using Ignition and Outlook
    This is in addition to previously mentioned extruder analysis
o    Generates a handover list for night shift process technicians
    This includes but is not limited to
•    All upcoming formulation changes, lip changes, overhauls, process engineering trial needs, and other significant process impacts
•    Past 12hrs of major maintenance issues, line downtime, die changes, quality issues, and other significant process impacts
o    Updates and posts Line 1 goofball schedule
•    As Needed:
o    Performs appropriate testing to determine if the material is good or bad, based on process data analysis
    Includes but not limited to gauge, shrink, UV burn, lay flat width, and color testing
o    Notifies TPLS, Process Engineering, and Rework Attendant if material needs to be held, released, or scrapped
o    Works with Quality on returning or dispositioning material that shipped to customers
o    Updates process engineering temporary postings before they expire (SQF compliance)
o    Keeps a current list of all material they have placed on hold to await testing
o    Attends Blocked Stock meetings to report what material they have on hold
•    Weekly:
o    Updates Bags Web SOC archive with any new SOC changes
•    Monthly:
o    Attend Safety Meetings
o    Submit 1 BBSO
 

Qualifications

Education:
•    High School Diploma or Equivalent required
•    Ignition experience is highly desirable
Requirements: 
•    At least 3 years of experience as a Bags Extrusion Operator or Bags Extrusion TPL
•    100% Pass Rate on most recent Operator Quality Refresher Test
•    Effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management at all levels 
•    Follow all safety processes and procedures, including those essential to the functions of the job
•    Learn to read process data trends in Ignition
•    Be able to work independently and reliably with a high attention to detail
