Job Description

Greenville is located in upstate South Carolina and nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  It is an outdoor recreational paradise with big-city amenities and small-town charm.  From modern restaurants in the historic downtown district to new homes in the surrounding suburbs, you’re sure to find a place to love.  

 

What will you do: 

  • Designs and modifies electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. 
  • Designs and directs engineering and maintenance personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing designs. 
  • Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses. 
  • Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements. 
  • Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations. 
  • Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products. 
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. 
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. 
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications. 
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. 
  • Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical and controls theory to engineering projects. 
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment. 
  • Supervise and assist the training of the project team members as necessary. 
  • Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget. 
  • Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. 
  • Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs. 
  • Develop budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs for projects. 
  • Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects. 

Qualifications

 

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience  
  • Experience with Allen Bradley software programming suites, including but not limited to RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, and Factory Talk View Studio 
  • Draftsight 2017 experience in a plus 
  • Prior experience in Plastics Extrusion process and/or converting of products 
  • Knowledge of statistics  
  • Prior use of designed experiments, Lean Six Sigma, SPC or equivalent
