Job Description

Basic Function:

This production focused maintenance position will assess daily the past 24 hours performance of the Maintenance Engineering Technologists (MET), Team Maintenance Leaders (TML) and Team Maintenance Specialists (TMS), analyze the status, contact maintenance planners or other resources to develop the daily corrective action plan for repetitive issues in preparation for the daily integration meeting where he/she will present that days maintenance plan to solve or address maintenance issue in the area. The Group Maintenance Lead (GML) will be responsible for the execution of this plan as the owner of the production machines in the area. The position will implement equipment and process solutions in response to KPI action triggers.  The GML will drive long-term reliability improvements through root cause corrections, reliability centered maintenance related Kaizen events and teamwork between maintenance and operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership to team which includes following Performance Management System, setting expectations that align to area’s business objectives and providing routine feedback on performance.
  • Manages the PDCA process from cradle to grave to include problem statement, root cause analysis, and counter measure implementation.
  • Directs the METs, TMLs and TMS and provide expertise (training, standards, SPLs)
  • Own and update KPIs related to their MPG and drive behavior to improve performance. Ownership for standard documentation (PLC program, Drive program, HMI, equipment drawing, FMEA’s)
  • Responsible for maintenance financials, maintenance safety and workplace organization (WPO).
  • Support SQF certification.     
  • Encourage utilities cost reduction in the area (shutting off machine when not in use, turning of lamps, etc.)
  • Provides reliability support, technology expertise and best practices for design reviews, construction, operability, maintainability and standards.

  • Ability to research and apply new equipment technology/trends.
  • Strong reporting and technical writing capability. 

Qualifications

Other requirements:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering degree from ABET accredited college.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient in Process and Instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, mechanical layout and design.
  • Computer aptitude, to include proficiency in MS Office, to include Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Visio, and Project Management.
  • Autocad and SAP PM knowledge preferred.

 

Safety requirements:

  • Wears all required PPE: hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Perform all duties using safe work methods and required safety inspections.
  • Attend and participate in monthly Safety Meetings.  

 

Key attributes desired:

  • Proficient with Lean and TPM Principles to include PDCA, A3 Strategy/Project Deployment, Root Cause Analysis, Planning/Scheduling and Capital Equipment Selection for lowest total cost of ownership.
  • CMRP Tested and Certified.
