Job Description

The Smart Factory Transformation Leader will partner with cross functional teams and leadership to support the plant deployment of Smart Factory.  Following deployment, this position will sustain Smart Factory at the equipment level.  This role reports through the Technical organization and will work closely with GME, SF IT, operations as a critical support partner. This role is critical to Smart Factory operations by installing, connecting, and servicing a variety of systems including safety and security, energy delivery (hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical), equipment operation, communication, and process control systems. This role will be responsible for ensuring standardization and compliance with L2 and IT standards.

  • PLC installation and programing, troubleshooting, read, and edit PLC logic.
  • Programming and installation of automation systems and interfacing with other factory control systems (PLC’s, HMI’s, robotics, drives and computers).
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Bristol, or Modicon PLCs.
  • Experience with GE Proficy iFix, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Iconics Genesis and Invensys Wonderware preferred.
  • Ability to program in multiple languages, including ladder logic, structured text and VB scripting.
  • Ability to read and interpret PLC wiring diagrams, Control Narratives and P&ID Drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure support (sever, IP address, routers, etc)
  • Troubleshooting to determine root cause of Smart Factory issues (equipment side, IT comminution side, etc).
  • Partner with the plant MES expert supporting Smart Factory operations.
  • Read and evaluate electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot using meters, laptop, schematics and manuals.
  • Review work orders and receives verbal instructions on job assignments.
  • Respond to emergency requests for immediate repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures following established program.
  • Promotes teamwork in troubleshooting events.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant technical field.
  • Excellent Safety Practices (LOTO, PPE, creating and following SOC’s).
  • Work independently and take ownership while working in a team environment
  • Programming and installation of automation systems and interfacing with other factory control systems (PLC’s, HMI’s, robotics, drives and computers).
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Bristol, or Modicon PLCs.
  • Experience with GE Proficy iFix, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Iconics Genesis and Invensys Wonderware preferred.
