Dual Skilled Maintenance Engineer

What you will do:

 

Your role will be responsible for providing maintenance support to the plant to ensure that the equipment is reliable and working optimally to improve plant performance. Your role will also involve preventative maintenance and assistance with breakdowns to prevent lines shutting down.

 

You will:

  • maintain high quality electrical and mechanical installations, repairs and maintenance to the plant and building fabric
  • plan and complete a range of planned maintenance work associated with electrical and mechanical engineering
  • complete proactive inspections, any required remedial repairs and act reactively to breakdowns to prevent the line going down and manufacturing time being lost
  • perform mechanical setup and production support
  • offer assistance with any maintenance projects such as removal or installation of equipment
  • perform fault finding and repair breakdowns

 

What we are looking for:

 

You will have:

  • a recognised mechanical apprenticeship (City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
  • higher qualification (e.g. ONC/HNC) or equivalent experience
  • experience of production equipment and maintenance in a diverse factory environment including extrusion 
  • experience of first line response for boilers, chillers, air compressors and other utility systems 
  • machining and/or welding skills 
  • good diagnostic skills 
  • good interpersonal and organisational skills 
  • a flexible approach to work 

 

You will be:

  • dual skilled (Mechanical/Electrical maintenance)
  • computer literate (store systems and Maintenance Management Systems)
  • a team player
