What does a Process Engineer do?
The Process Engineer leads projects to optimize our processes and products in the St Neots plant specifically how to improve performance of extrusion processes and associated equipment. Runs trials to develop production conditions for new products (either brand new formulations or modifications of existing formulations) and provides expert troubleshooting for extrusion processes.
Why we need you
- To use your talent to lead and monitor equipment performance improvement projects: optimization of processes in terms of quality, efficiency (machine rate and material consumption)
- To use your experience and background to get involved in the various European projects (change of resins, developments, sharing of best practices with sister factories, etc.)
- To use your knowledge to understand how fundamental laws of nature and engineering principles apply to extrusion machinery and associated equipment (Champion of logic and fact)
- To support external requests for trials on raw materials, product development and product extension from other plants
- Ensure operating procedures for new equipment or existing equipment are available
- Participate in definition and installation of equipment to improve performance (rate/yield/quality/…)
- Interface to best practice, Global Engineering, Global Process, Fusion, PTC, product development on extrusion process relevant items
Qualifications
- Numerate degree (Engineering or equivalent)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
- Practice of technical project management.
- Autonomous but you have excellent abilities to work in a team
- Solid experience within plastics manufacturing (extrusion, web handling) is desirable.
