Job Description

 The Team Performance Leader (TPL) is responsible for the on-time execution of the production schedule by the shop floor, as well as reporting shift performance and issues into the daily integration meeting.  The TPL will be the leader of the shift.   Primarily responsible for ensuring the Production Teams meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.  This role will also be responsible for meeting continuous improvement objectives and ensuring that operators are well trained and  monitoring the performance of the team and taking appropriate actions and escalation when an individual or team is not meeting goals in safety, quality, and productivity.  This position will function as the Leader for the Production Teams on the assigned shift and provide more focused guidance within their shift and between shifts to ensure collaboration and overall plant success

Job Description Cont.

Primary Responsibilities:

Will be reponsibile for shift production, metrics and KPIs

  • Safety - Be able to follow and give high regard to safety rules and housekeeping procedures.  Support safety systems through incident investigation, awareness, risk analysis, and training.
  • Quality – support all quality systems along with focus to minimize quality rework
  • People Leadership/ Coaching – ability to provide coach and develop with effective and constructive feedback and clear expectations to ensure Watertown goals are met.  Demonstrate ability to energize and motivate team.
  • Dependable – Strong attendance track record and plans ahead with any exceptions
  • Leadership - Assist in managing production employees during operation with a positive attitude
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) - Actively participate in implementation of CI and Lean principles to drive process improvements to increase efficiency.  Assist in developing and implementing cost saving initiatives.
  • Accountability - Ensures that planned metrics related to Safety, Quality, Deliver and Cost are met. Adherence to Escalation Policy to communicate any support required or obstacles in achieving planned metrics.
  • Results Focused – shows a documented track record of consistently using data based decision making to achieve desired results.  Strong collaboration with team to improve results to safely serve our customers
  • Communication – possesses strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates the ability to express thoughts / opinions with clarity, accuracy and attention to detail.  Possess ability to manage employee relations situations
  • Problem Solving - Initiate activities related to safety, quality and performance on the shop floor.  Demonstration of outstanding troubleshooting skills on processes and equipment
  • Organization - Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously
  • Initiative / Self - Motivation - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Assist in all aspects of employee development and training and ensure cross training matrix enables flexibility


  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 - 4 year degree or pursuing degree – preferred, not required AND/OR
  • 3 + years of work experience in manufacturing and the field of management or supervision
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Must be able to solve mathematical problems at the high school level.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime
