Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the quality and consistency of the plant’s products. The position reviews quality standards, CTQs, and product specifications. The position will evaluate engineering changes for proposed equipment and process changes. The position will evaluate quality test methods and tools. The position is also responsible for investigating and analyzing quality problems and recommending solutions and following up to ensure corrective actions are put in place. The position will also be responsible for following all plant Impact Projects for the quality function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Define and implement quality improvements to improve operations and unit cost.
● Act as a role model to team members and be recognized as the plant’s quality expert.
● Provide quality related guidance, training, and mentoring to team members as needed.
● Provides direction and guidance to team members to ensure that day-to-day quality support needs and goals are met.
● Communicate and work with appropriate personnel to support and achieve global/corporate goals and metrics.
● Assist production on a daily basis with quality related issues.
● Assist Technical Manager with assigned projects.
● Oversee the coordination and evaluation of plant development trials from the quality perspective.
● Work in a team environment with operators, mechanics, and exempt professionals.
● Plan and maintain schedules for major quality related projects.
● Analyze test data and define/lead projects to improve plant quality using sound statistics principles.
● Identify and improve data collection to investigate abnormal conditions and find root cause.
● Integrate and standardize Six Sigma concepts and tools.
● Review and implement engineering and quality change orders affecting the production line quality
● Assist the plant in maintaining compliance with ISO, corporate and plant quality standards
● Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality attributes of the plant’s finished products
● Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other staff managers to maximize product quality and minimize costs
● Establish and direct teams to Corrective/Preventative action for field or internal failures.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
● Bachelors Level (Engineering/Quality) Degree or Closely Related Degree
● Five or more years of work experience in the field of manufacturing quality
Additional Qualifications
● Extensive experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Preferred
● Extensive technical experience/knowledge: (1) material & product quality specifications; (2) test methods; (3) data analysis & report writing; (4) quality control systems; (5) critical to quality attributes
● Results focused – shows a documented track record of consistently using data based decision making to achieve desired results
● Teamwork – understands the strength and importance of how team goals support the ultimate achievement of company goals
● Customer focus – constantly works to exceed expectations and creates consistent value for customers
