Position Summary
SEE is seeking a driven manufacturing professional to fulfill our current opening, Executive Director of Operations, located in Streetsboro, OH manufacturing facility. The qualified candidate will demonstrate top performance history in the following areas: Lean Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Customer Service, Quality, Safety, Employee Relations, Service Delivery, and Procurement. In addition to directly managing the Streetsboro, OH manufacturing facility, this position will also have responsibility for the Automated Packaging Systems (APS) Supply Chain Manufacturing network including sites in Garfield, OH, Bedford, OH, and Keyser, WV. You will promote a culture of continuous improvement, quality, Zero Harm, and world-class manufacturing processes. The position will establish robust process controls surrounding inventory, production goals, and customer delivery requirements; drive, oversee, and maintain the lean manufacturing environment. Other responsibilities include maintaining communication and a close partnership with business leaders and other functions, a clear understanding of the corporate and competitive environment, the industry best practices, and the integration of these external factors into the site supply chain processes and deliverables.
Job Description
- Directs all activities across the APS manufacturing plant network relating to manufacturing industrial packaging products in accordance with the business plan and the strategic goals of the Company.
- Order fulfillment, outbound logistics, distribution and export administration of finished goods.
- Strategic purchasing and tactical management of suppliers of materials, components, execution of procurement, inbound logistics and import processes.
- Management of monthly Sales & Operations Planning and tight collaboration with APS and Supply Chain business leaders.
- Preparation of Annual Operation Plan for APS.
- Staff management, training, discipline, compliance to corporate policies & tools.
- Leadership or participation to global, regional, or local strategic or tactical APS supply chain improvement projects or Capex projects.
- Support R&D activities in SPO and across the APS network.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance in SAP of APS master data, global collaboration with other master data teams.
- Accountable for Supply Chain performance metrics again Corporate goals and AOP: Safety, sustainability, service, lead times, quality, costs, variances, suppliers’ ppm.
- Ownership for product inventory level and aged inventory.
- Accountable for the delivery of Supply Chain operation budget direct and indirect, freight costs inbound and outbound.
- Collaborates with senior management on strategic goals and sets short and long-term production and service goals for the APS network.
- Establishes annual budget and capital submittals (CAPEX) for all production and production support cost centers.
- Directs and manages the overall production plan for the site collaborating with functional area managers on the determination of materials, space, equipment and personnel needs, the development and implementation of processes and procedures, assignment and execution of functional responsibilities, and determination of budget and cost constraints.
- Communicates the Company’s strategic goals and vision for the APS network.
- Evaluates performance against goals and adjusts allocations of resources (e.g. personnel, equipment, materials) as needed to optimize the operations of equipment, machinery and products produced, as well as market share of customers, quality of services provided, and cost efficiency of operations.
- Reviews and analyzes reports of key business performance data.
- Collaborates with the management team on operations and maintains knowledge of current market trends and best practices for region and industry.
- Manages team engaged in supervising day-to-day operations, providing strategic guidance, and collaborating to troubleshoot highly complex issues related to site operations.
- Collaborates with global regulatory department to ensure Sealed Air products are within full compliance of all applicable state, local, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Oversees employee training across the APS network of sites, and ensures all activities are performed in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Participates in and ensures full support for site audits as necessary.
- Integrates, standardizes, and maintains Six Sigma concepts and tools.
- Communicates with co-workers, vendors, customers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Reviews production plans in coordination with sales, engineering, purchasing, supply chain, and other relevant functions.
- Acts as liaison between various company departments in the resolution of manufacturing and production issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering required; MBA is preferred
- 10-15 years of results-oriented experience in manufacturing
- Multi-site operations leadership experience preferred.
- Hands-on management approach with experience managing direct and indirect reports, assigning work, providing coaching, setting goals, staff development, and making management decisions both alone or in collaboration with management and Human Resources
- Expertise in project management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels from shop floor to senior management
- Lean experience
- Quality, Purchasing, and Safety knowledge and experience
- Hands-on management approach with the ability to act both strategically and tactically
- Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities
- Able to assimilate and understand new technologies
- Polished presentation, business acumen and facilitation skills

- Minimum Green Belt Certification or equivalent training and project completion may be considered
