Job Description

The Maintenance Leader will coordinate engineering, design, construction, equipment maintenance, environmental issues, and safety issues to ensure efficient plant operations in conjunction

with the Plant Manager. The leader will also direct and coordinate the daily maintenance activities of facility.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervise 24/7 maintenance department. Monitor the performance of all direct reports to ensure all goals and timelines are met. Lead, teach, and coach employees in a positive manner. Engage employees in continuous improvement. Ensure monthly downtime goals are established and met.
  • Conduct projects to develop and improve manufacturing methods and processes for production of various company product lines. Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule standards as established. Develop and manage maintenance and facilities budget. Initiate and justify capital expenditures and manage to capital budget.
  • Research, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacturing to include costing. Monitor production and engineering project labor requirements and partner with appropriate people to schedule technical resources. Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental concerns and issues as well as safety and ISO compliance. Work with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure policies and procedures for pollution control, installation, modification, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Organize onsite outside contractors for quality, safety, and environmental adherence to company policy. Obtain bids on construction, alteration, or installation work as required and make recommendations based on cost, workmanship, and completion dates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering) or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 7 plus years supervisory/lead or significant technical project leadership experience in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills: 1-1, group, written, presentation and facilitation.
  • Systems proficiency: Microsoft Office and maintenance interface/module in business system.
  • Problem solving skills: data rationale, hands-on troubleshooting, group process. Six Sigma or Lean methodology knowledge preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plastics processing and/or web handling equipment a plus.
  • CAD solid modeling or ProE a plus.
  • ISO, AIB experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated positive leadership approach
  • Ability to travel to different facilities including overnight. Approx 10% travel.
